Mopo is developing open-source modelling tools for a better energy system!
The Mopo project combines component tools producing input data to create model-ready datasets, scenario and workflow management, and medium and long-term energy system planning. The aim is to provide a user-friendly, open-source and validated set of tools to benefit decision-makers in network operation, industry and public authorities.
The coordinator explains in a nutshell what Mopo is and our goals:
“We want to do better and make tools more user-friendly, easier to use to reach more potential users and help the energy transition. There are different energy sectors such as transports, buildings, so we are building different data pipelines that can bring that data and make it usable.”
Additionally, Spine Toolbox is presented with its main characteristics:
“It helps modellers to manage the process of getting and transforming data into a format suitable. Users can build scenarios that can be run through the models and then analysed. You can do different physics in different energy sectors and you can modify the model structure.”
Stay tuned to find out the other tools and what they can do!
